Decided to polish the tail wheel.
Ran through the GDU 460 configuration again. Tweaked some instrument display settings. Everything is complete until the wings are installed. Tested intercom with two headsets, comm is good between both seats.
Filed edges of lower skybolt flanges that were rubbing on cowling.
Sanded upper aft cowl to fuselage gap once more. Filed baggage door edges even with fuselage skin. Fabricated retainer washer for oil access door skybolts.
Installed rudder pedals and forward control stick. Pressure tested left fuselage fuel lines.
Sanded and added second primer coat to lower cowl.
Sanded upper cowl and added second primer coat. Primed oil filler access door. Sanded lower cowl.
Primed lower cowl.
Made bends to air filter retainers and installed.
Riveted remaining right forward engine baffles.
Primed upper cowl. Installed remaining wing click bonds. Riveted remaining left forward baffle parts.
Work from 7/7-7/8/21.
Final sanded cowl hinge pin retainer cut outs and floxed retainers.
Sanded retainers flush to cowl.
Installed a brass 1/2″ 45° elbow at the accessory case breather port in order to clear the engine mount. Had a hard time finding one. Home Depot sells them special order two pack only. Ace Hardware has them! Trimmed and secured breather line.
Marked forward side baffle bend lines.
Riveted oil cooler access door skybolt receptacles. Installed lower cowl nutplates.
Continued wire routing EFII harness wiring.
Match drilled oil filler access door skybolts to cowl.
Sanded gap even between door and cowl. Primed door and upper cowl flanges.
Sanded inlet cowl split line micro. Machine countersinked upper cowl for oil cooler bracket then riveted and applies micro. Machine countersinked forward cowl for flush screws. Riveted outboard nutplates to cowl.
