Installed lower gear fairing nutplates. These will close the gap at the aft side. They are installed on the inside so that the nutplate is mostly hidden. Found this idea on another builders forum, works well.
Sanded inside of lower gear and lower empennage fairings.
Microed rivet heads and other areas needing evening out.
Began drilling firewall for pass throughs. I need a larger unibit to expand out to 1.125 inch.
Added fiberglass lenght to bottom empennage gap fairings.
Cut out stainless firewall foil for engine mount.
Final sanded canopy frame. Began sanding empennage fairing.
Home made drill bushings to match drill 3/16 pilot holes. Rigid tube OD reduced .005 with a cordless drill and a file.
Had to use a jack to get proper top mount hole spacing.
Drilled firewall for engine mount 3/8 bolts.
I think it’s good!?
Added epoxy to canopy frame bulkheads to fill pinholes.
