Brake reservoir & canopy frame: 7.3 hours

Drilled instrument sub panel and installed Grove brake fluid reservoir.

Finished  fabricating reservoir fluid line. Chose rigid over flex line due to the huge weight savings.

Removed excess epoxy from canopy bulkheads. Bonded frame plugs to forward and aft bulkheads.

  1. Hello, I wanted to ask if you’re doing most of your priming with a etch can primer, and if so are you scuffing it beforehand or just applying to the all the parts? Alclad also? Thanks much, Curt

    • Hi Curt,
We’ll I started with SEM and then switched to Stewart Systems primer when they switched to a one part system. Yes everything is scuffed before prime and with the Stewart Systems I used eco etch as well and it is very durable. If I had it to do over I would use SS for all of the ribs and longerons-anything not alclad. The quickest scuff method I found is to cut two pieces of scothcbrite into two inch squares mounted to a small screw and jam nut used as a flap brush with a dremel. Just make sure you wipe down well with alcohol before prime.
      Good luck!

  2. Thanks for the response about the primer. I was a A&P with UAL here at LAX and wanted to let you know how nice your work is! Happy Holidays….
