Elongated alternator mount bracket holes to allow alternator pulley to be inline with flywheel belt groove. B&C said 1/8″ difference was allowable but seeing how replacing the belt requires prop removal therefore a little effort now might save a lot in the future.
Sanded cowl fiberglass added yesterday.
Added fiberglass to strengthen areas for inlets and inlet ring nut plates.
Planned oil cooler line routing.
Finished installing O2 controller and calibration. Working well at 19.4 free air! Will finish wire routing once firewall forward wiring is complete.
Decided to paint the plenum to match the cylinder barrels.
Cut oxygen sensor controller wires to length and installed terminals. Was able to remove the pins from connector to feed through the firewall. Secured remaining wire bundle and installed click bonds for controller mounting.
Spent time planning and measuring fuel line routing for firewall to left injector rail, right injector rail to PSI regulator and back to firewall fitting. Will have to measure rail to rail after I get the wires run to get a good measurement.
Installed terminals and ran starter and B-lead wiring. Need some spacers and adel’s to complete later.
Began planning fuel injection fuel line routing. Not much room have just enough to meet minimum 2.5″ bend radius.
Decided to move my fuel filter to the forward cabin based on VAF recommendations. Will make servicing more difficult but heat and water in the filter will be less of an issue. Fabricated bracket and filter fuel lines.
Planned starter and alternator wire runs.
Terminated main power and bus power wiring to starter selenoid. Added fire sleeve to FPT.
Spent time planning throttle and prop cable routing. Measured required lengths and place my order with Vans.
Removed throttle body and plenum adapter to orient parts for better cable and wire routing. Measured throttle and prop governor cables. The stock cables will not work. The throttle cable needs to be longer and the prop cable shorter. With crossover exhaust I’m going to run the throttle cable down the right side of the oil sump for better clearance with the exhaust pipes. Will definitely need fire sleeve and exhaust shields.
Confirmed all wiring for firewall forward is present and complete.
