Spent the morning getting the fuselage leveled. Installed outboard wheel brackets and marked drill locations on fairings and sanded left pant seam edges.
Got her on her legs she stands tall!
Was a little nervous about hanging this rig from the hoist but it turned out to be easy work. Had to adjust the hoist chain to raise it another six inches to rest on the saw horse.
Wheel pants next.
Fabricated and bonded static port connector bracket to fuselage.
Fabricated pilot stick reinforcement plate out of leftover piece from stick shortening. Just need to tack weld then have the part TIG welded.
Mounted GPS shelf to instrument panel cover.
Match drilled GPS mount to brackets. Primed mount and installed click bond and platenuts.
Drilled pilot stick for grip wire exit.
Cut and shaped GPS mount brackets and stiffeners.
Floxed brackets and stiffeners to instrument cover. Installed static line to GSU25.
Cut forward control stick to proper length.
Installed Molex connectors to console dimmer wiring. Console complete except for labeling!
Installed heat shrink to tail position LED.
Finally was able to source CR3214-4-4 rivets to finish the remaining four upper gear tower skin rivets. While I was on the road I picked up what I needed while at Duncan Aviation in Battle Creek for a buck each, yeaaaaah!
Fabricated fiberglass brackets and stiffeners for GPS antenna shelf. A 2×4 covered with packing tape and mold release makes a nice 90° bracket form.
Fabricated GPS antenna shelf.
Countersunk and edge prepped rudder stops. Installed shield grounds to fuel sender wiring.
Installed tail LED wire conectors. Wires run free and clear of rudder. Ran shielded wiring for fuel senders. Added two more click bonds.
Sanded empennage fairing edges smooth.
